Clacton Rotary works with local good causes to help financially and also with support through volunteering.
Supporting overseas projects and working with partners agencies on the ground to ensure funds are utilised correctly. Recent projects include Tools With A Mission (TWAM) and schools and water supplies in Botswana

The Rotary Club of Clacton-on-Sea has recently had its accounts for Presidential Year 2022/23 examined and approved (Presidential Years run from 1st July to 30th June) and is delighted to report that it was once again able to support and/or organise a wide range of activities in aid of good causes.

Clacton County High School has established an enviable reputation for drama and enthusing and developing the acting talent of its pupils to put on some truly impressive productions. The Rotary Club of Clacton-on-Sea has in the past recognised and supported the work done at the school to inspire pupils of all abilities to get involved, including those with disabilities, by helping to boost funds to pay for costumes and other materials.

This year Clacton & Jubilee Rotary Clubs combined their efforts and were responsible for the official carpark for the Clacton Airshow, on Thu 25th & Fri 26th August, setting up on the Wed before and clearing up after the event. This year the site was a little smaller than previous years as it was shared with the circus but they were very helpful and kept out of the way during the airshow.

By way of introduction Gemma explained that after completing school, and before attending university, she had decided to take a gap year. She wanted it to be adventurous and chose to teach english to school children in a small free school in Ghana. It was to be her first venture away from Brightlingsea, a small village on the east coast of Essex, and it turned out to not only be adventurous, but a life changing experience.
